​Community Relief Assistance Disclosure

Mission Statement
Shoal Creek Baptist is committed to serving our community by providing financial assistance to individuals and families in need. Through our utility assistance program, we aim to offer temporary relief to those struggling to pay their utility bills, ensuring that no one in our congregation or community is left without essential services. 

Eligibility Requirements: 
  • To qualify for assistance, applicants must meet the following criteria: 
  • Applicants must be willing to meet with the Pastor of Shoal Creek.
  • Applicants can show proof of residents by showing an ID with local address or a bill that verifies local residence. 
  • Demonstrate financial hardship (job loss, low income, medical bills). 
  • Not have received assistance more than twice in a calendar year (exceptions can be made in case-by-case situation). 

Types of Assistance:
  • Partial/full Bill Payment: The church will contribute up to $250.00 for assistance for electric, water, gas.
  • Propane and Fuel oil assistance is offered to those who cannot afford to fill tank and would lead to resident residing in an unsafe environment. (low temps) 
  • All payments will be made directly to the company. No cash or checks are to be given to any individual. 
  • Any need above $250.00 must get approved by our Benevolence Board.

Accountability 
  • Each person receiving assistance will meet with the Pastor and offered prayer. 
  • The church will have other resources available that are available to help those facing hardships. 
  • The Pastor will maintain accurate records and share with leadership/congregation amount of assistance given out. 

Note: Checks are wrote once a week, therefore if your need is urgent we cannot guarantee your assistance would be met in the time needed to prevent cut off or eviction.
