God gives gifts to each of us. Sometimes those gifts are to be used quietly, out of the public eye, and sometimes they are to be used in a very public format. If you know me, you know I would prefer to be used quietly, but God had other plans for me. He called me into music ministry. I have always loved music and have sung and played in church from a very young age; however, I never envisioned myself leading worship with a praise team. I truly believe that worship music reaches places in the soul that words alone sometimes cannot. My desire is to show and spread the love of Jesus to others through music, by helping to create an atmosphere that welcomes the Holy Spirit and allows people to worship freely, just as the Bible instructs us to do.
Through the work week, I am a counselor with Yancey County Schools. I love working with children and young adults, helping them become all that Christ created them to be. My husband Joey and I own Flowers By Vance in town, and see our business as a ministry too. We love meeting new people and sharing Jesus every chance we get.
I consider it a true honor and privilege to serve alongside everyone at Shoal Creek Church as we grow God’s kingdom together.
